What is Bukkit?
Bukkit is a versatile server mod that is constantly evolving. Its functionality can be extended using plugins created by the community. Popular plugins include administrative tools, anti-griefing mechanisms, and region creation. There are many plugins out there that serve to further the amount of fun one can have with Minecraft ranging from hordes of zombies to in-game economies! Please do note that I am not part of the Bukkit team.
Can I use Bukkit to host a server?
Bukkit is actually the developer API that people can use to develop plugins with. Players utilize CraftBukkit to install a server capable of accepting plugins made with Bukkit. CraftBukkit is developed by the Bukkit Team. Both Bukkit and CraftBukkit can be downloaded from this hyperlink. A tutorial covering server installation can be found on this very website, or at this hyperlink. In the event that a problem is encountered, this page can be used to help resolve it and get the server running properly.
